| Medieval quarry for flint. The chalk at this point is at the top of an anticline and is close to the surface. The flint would have been used in the rebuild of St John's Church in 1321. Flint's importance as a building stone for foundations and walls arose because the Thames Basin contains no other building stone. |

| The Bell PH built c1837. Replaced by Bell Close and parade of shops either side c1930?. The Bell rebuilt 1931 by Taylor Walker on corner of Uxbridge Road and Elm Park Road. Name changed to The Orange Tree for a few years before demolition and building of a block of flats. |

The original name of Jubilee Close was just "The Close". The name Jubilee Close was given when the original houses and bungalows were demolished in late 1970's |

I think that I have identified a link between this photograph and EPW006193. This area is seen in the distance top left of EPW006193. We have the railway on the right and the straightish road in the middle( admittedly we can't see a lot of the road). There are five trees which I shall mark which clinch it for me. |
