| Uppermill station. This closed to passengers at the beginning of 1917 - this photograph is good as it shows where the platforms were and how they seemed to be reached by a ramp coming out of the building. However, the shelters that used to cover the platforms have already disappeared. The station building still exists and the railway line, closed in 1966, is now a bridle path. |

This line was a relief track to avoid congestion on the still-existing main line. It separated from the main line at Diggle & rejoined at Stalybridge. |

| This area was eventually to become the King George Playing Field. Although authorised initially before the war, it was not laid out until after. |

| Police station under construction. This closed about 2002 and was finally demolished in 2011. Its replacement closed its public counter in 2012. |
